Postpartum Doula Care in Wilmington, NC

Skilled Postpartum Care for New Families

No matter how much we prepare, having a baby is a big transition.

Do you feel overwhelmed with all of the advice, methods, "expert" recommendations & product choices, not to mention becoming a new parent?!

There is a major lack of high-quality information and support during a time when we need it the most.

The first few postpartum months as a new parent, for the first time or welcoming another baby, can be challenging, overwhelming, joyous, sleep-deprived, and so much more.

Being supported at this time with skilled postpartum doula services supports your growth as a new parent and can be the difference between simply surviving or thriving.

Meet Jen Chandlee, Certified Postpartum Doula

Hi, I'm Jen. Wilmington, NC postpartum doula with over 30 years of experience supporting new families.

Imagine having access to a doula who can help you sift through your options without guilt or pressure, to listen to your concerns and reassure you when tears of exhaustion and self-doubt are flowing, and to offer non-judgmental support for the choices YOU make, not what the books say or family and friends tell you you have to do.

Imagine having evidence-based, high-quality resources available to you, instead of the latest guilt-inducing parenting trend making its way across the internet.

Imagine getting support with lactation, pumping, and/or bottle-feeding without leaving the comfort of your home.

Imagine having a safe person to truly listen to you as you process your birth story or share any emotions that arise during this transformational time.

That is my role as your family's postpartum doula.

overwhelmed? you are not alone

When you invite me into your home as your postpartum doula, my focus is on your health and well-being as well as the needs of your newborn baby.

VIRTUAL Postpartum Doula Care

Maybe you are looking for a postpartum doula but don’t have any nearby. Or maybe you just prefer to have virtual support, either over the phone or via a video call, instead of having someone in your home. Either way, I can help... whether you just need a one-time consultation or several weeks of ongoing support.

Fees are $40 per hour for postpartum doula services. If money is a challenge, let’s discuss. I do not currently offer overnight support, but I can provide referrals.

As part of your care with me as your postpartum doula, we can address anything related to the fourth trimester, including:

  • Infant feeding and pumping
  • Safe sleep solutions
  • Gentle techniques to facilitate physical healing after birth
  • Strategies for twins/multiples
  • Baby care information: diapering, bathing, soothing, etc.
